Localization of graphics and translation.

As is the case with many of our project, our Crest client got more than they bargained for. Based on our reputation for uncommon expertise in globalization and translation of graphics Crest engaged us to translate much of its image-rich dentalcare.com patient education material. The material is composed of approximately 20 documents each available in 17 languages, both in pdf and html format. The main use of this content is for US-based dental care profresionnal to provide healthcare infomation to thier patients, including non-native English speakers.

This was an update and an expansion of the translations that had already been provided for some years on the web site. When we looked at the existing site we realized that the user interface was graphically inelegant, and was cumbersome to use (see figure 1). We analyzed the potential ways users would actually be accessing the information and redesigned the user experience accordingly (see figure 2).....and we also produced all the translated material.
